Desolace

«In a terrible screech of a terrible night.. The madness that darkness was holding, will be unleashed...»

Her awakening signed the end of the long peace and years of fighting, years of war, all in opposition of the evil in Ortel Castle. All the land had been plunged into chaos by the hubris of two boys who ignorantly believed they knew better than everyone else.
On the night of their deaths, the woman came out of her castle after a decade of slumber, and she spread a wave of horror through the entire country. The fog of the dark queen that once only occupied the top of the forest was now killing every flower, every tree, and every crop field. Soon the night was becoming darkest one in recent history, and her sweet voices was talking in everyones minds, telling them that one of the villager had made her return.Tthat somebody in the village had been in the forbidden forest, and was still alive, that they were among them.
It only took few hours before the whole population become crazy, fighting against eachother with accusations of having brought back the demon. Killing their friends of yesterday, burning homes in which kids were still sleeping inside it, guards turning on the innocents they protected, as they were all tricked into believing that they caused the Succubus Queen's return.
This madness continued until dawn, and now the old peaceful and popular land known as the Wonderlands was a battlefield, left in destruction. The sacrifice of all those corpses in the castle of Ortel were in vain now that she had reawoken, and was once again in control.
Soon the Wonderlands took the name Desolace, as nobody was coming anymore. Some of the living villagers stayed, confidents that it was still their land, and they could not simply leave it. Desolace also still needed citizens to scare away the ignorant adventurers and false heroes, who would be crazy enough to try and discover the treasures/wealth this forsaken land was still in possession of. The biggest treasure that adventures were talking about however, directly related to the event. It was the pretty and irresistible succubus that had driven the land into madness, her beautiful form being the envy of all man's lust.
